WWE’s Source Breakker retains NXT Championship on Vengeance Day and receives next Challenger

Tonight’s WWE NXT Vengeance Day main event was Bron Breakker vs Grayson Waller for the NXT Championship, and no love was lost between the two competitors. Waller has been trying to make Breakker look vulnerable and out of shape throughout their feud, and this was Breakker’s best chance at making some money back. Waller got ahead of Breakker early in the game, dodging Breakker and carrying the Champ down. At one point, however, Waller pushed Breakker a little too far, and Breakker went on a rampage, knocking Waller over. However, it was the audience that really seemed to hit Waller with their chants, giving Breakker the opening he needed to seal the win and retain his NXT Championship. However, his next challenger made itself known when Carmelo Hayes emerged backstage and made it clear that he was coming for that title.

Waller wasted no time in chasing Breakker, as he burst through the door and the impact sent Breakker flying to the ground. Waller then dodged a spear, but Breakker hit him with a big heel and then got him in the cage. Breakker continued the attack, but Waller relied on his speed and evasion to avoid being hit by Breakker, and at several points forced Breakker to go full speed ahead and collide with the cage.

Waller continued to challenge the champion whenever he could, and then he slammed him into the cage wall and tried to take cover, but he kicked out. Waller did some pushups and then continued to hit Breakker with speed, colliding with him and sending him into the cage wall. He punched the champion in the eye and threw him against the cage wall several times before knocking him to the mat and taking cover, but Breakker kicked out.

Waller hit Breakker with a suplex, but Breakker came back with a Frankeinsteiner in cover, but Waller kicked out. Waller then caught Breakker in the air with a knee and went up and hit a stunning elbow, but Breakker kicked out of the sleeve. Waller tied Breakker’s arms in the ropes and began hitting the Champ with punches and then a vicious drop kick.

However, Breakker shifted gears and freed himself from the ropes, directing all his aggression at Waller. He picked him up and slammed him into the cage wall and then knocked him down, but Waller hit a low blow and a blast on Breakker. Waller went for cover, but Breakker still kicked out.

The crowd started chanting Waller sucks and Waller wasn’t happy, making his way to the top of the cage and jaws at the audience. He then started trying to get out of the cage but Breakker caught him and brought him down with a Superplex, Breakker yelled at Waller for a while and Waller pushed him away, and he bounced off the ropes and impaled Waller, giving him the 3 got. count and retain his NXT Championship.

As Breakker celebrated on the top of the cage, Carmelo Hayes and Trick Wiliams came out and packed Breakker, and Hayes made it clear that his next target is Breakker’s NXT Championship.
