WWE announced on Tuesday that this year SummerSlam premium live event will take place at Ford Field in Detroit on Saturday, August 5. The announcement stated that this marks the first time the home of the Detroit Lions has hosted a WWE event since Wrestle Mania 23 in 2007 and Michigan’s first time a SummerSlam since 1993. Tickets go on sale April 14 through Ticketmaster.
