A special will bring together some of the actors who were part of the franchise Power Rangers. However, Amy Joe Johnsonwho played Kimberly Hart, the original Pink Ranger, will not be part of this special.
In a publication op tweet made this Wednesday (18), Johnson explained the reason for not doing the special, but suggested news will be forthcoming.
“For the record, I never said no. I just didn’t say yes to what was offered. But more fun things are coming! I look forward to seeing my friends rock!”
Johnson played Kimberly from 1993 to 1995. After leaving the children’s series, she continued her acting career, working as a director, producer, songwriter and singer. she’s been in luck, Wildfire, flash point and Secret Affairs.
Amy Jo Johnson directed episode of Superman & Lois
In an interview with Comic Book, Amy Jo Johnson talked about what it was like to direct an episode of the series Superman & Lois. The actress has been a fan of the man of steel since childhood.
“I had several job interviews at Warner Bros, and Chad Kennedy was instrumental in getting me this job. He really defended me and pushed me forward, and then I had meetings with Todd Helbing, the showrunner. [de Superman & Lois], and the CW. There were a lot of meetings and then they gave me the chance to direct an episode. I prepared like a mother. I walked in there like I was filming a feature film. We’ll see how the episode goes.”
About the Power Rangers special
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and for all is released worldwide on Netflix on April 19. The special celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Power Rangers franchise.
The cast includes David Yost as Billy, the Blue Ranger, Walter E. Jones as Zack, the Black Ranger, Seve Cardenas as Rocky, the second Red Ranger, Catherine Sutherland as Kat, the second Pink Ranger.
Also Karan Ashley as Aisha, the second Yellow Ranger, Johnny Yong Bosch as Adam, the second Black Ranger. Alongside Barbara Goodson as Rita Repulsa and Richard Horvitz as Alpha 5.
The big news in the cast is Charlie Kersh as Minh, the daughter of the original Yellow Ranger Trini, played by Thuy Trang, who passed away in 2001. In the special, the Power Rangers reunite to face an old threat.
