Wednesday Star Jenna Ortega “Knows Nothing” on Season 2 of the Addams Family Spinoff

Netflix has officially renewed Wednesday for a second season after the series starring Jenna Ortega became a huge success for the streamer. Since the official renewal took place just days ago, little is known about the project at this point. In fact, Ortega says she hasn’t seen any of the scripts for the second season, nor does she know what other issues will follow her Addams Family character or Nevermore’s other students.

“I haven’t seen anything and I don’t know anything,” Ortega said on the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards on Tuesday. “I feel like sometimes as an actor you’re just told what to do, but I’m waiting for it. I think they’re just starting to put together a writers’ room, so that could be soon.”

What shall Wednesday Season two is about?

Wednesday showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar say they’ve sketched for several years now that the show is being revamped. That said, Netflix has only announced that it has renewed the series for a second season, with fans waiting to see if it might continue. A writers’ room has already been formed for the show’s second outing.

“For us, it’s always looking to the future, and when we sit down to make a show, ideally we’re looking at multiple seasons. That’s never expected, but that’s the expectation that hopefully the show will be successful,” said the duo in a chat with Variety. “So you always lay out at least three or four seasons worth of potential storylines for the characters. It can evolve and change. Often you want to see what characters or cast stand out and who you enjoy writing for. So you want to keep it open and organic enough to change it and evolve it, but we certainly have a pretty clear runway of what we want to do in future seasons.”

All eight episodes of Wednesday streaming now on Netflix.
