Wednesday was one of the absolute joys of the year, and while the main mystery was solved, other bigger mysteries were teased in the final episode of the season. Fans have been hoping the series would get a new season, and Netflix just revealed a new teaser that may well lead to that. Netflix’s latest message contains a series of question marks and then plays the clip from the season finale, which many consider to be an official season 2 announcement. The message can be found below.
Wednesday took Netflix by storm, amassing nearly 6 billion views to date. Coupled with the positive reception from fans and Jenna Ortega’s fantastic performance on Wednesday, Season 2 seemed like a slam dunk. Sadly, there was no word on more seasons and Netflix has been known to tear down beloved shows if they don’t bring in new subscribers. Fortunately, it feels like we’re getting more Wednesday Addams, and that’s great.

Earlier this year, Ortega spoke about the challenges of playing the character and striking the right balance between making her compelling and playing her emotions close to the vest.
“We’ve never seen her as a teenage girl,” Ortega told Entertainment Weekly. “You know, it’s funny and sweet and almost charming to hear this eight-year-old’s obsession with murder and gore and guts. As she gets older, that nasty attitude or [those] caustic remarks, it’s almost hard not to sound like every other teenage girl. So, it’s like, how do we establish this character and give her the same fire without making her become something she’s not? It’s also an eight-hour series, so for an emotionless character there has to be some sort of emotional arc.”
Ortega said, “That was really interesting to find out in terms of, okay, well, she has to be able to move the story forward somehow, but how do we keep her true to her deadpan self? It was a bit of a challenge and I’m curious to see how it plays out. I’ve never had the chance to play an iconic character. I know she’s loved and respected and I just don’t want to mess her up.”
