Upcoming AEW Rampage changes timeslot

After just under two years of broadcasting all television content exclusively on AEW dynamiteAll Elite Wrestling expanded its weekly broadcast to two shows with the launch of AEW rampage in the summer of 2021. Airing at 10 p.m. ET on Fridays, AEW rampage started off white hot, with Christian Cage handing Kenny Omega his first singles loss in over a year. The following week was marked by CM Punk’s highly anticipated debut, which was produced in front of over 15,000 fans at the United Center. Since the huge beginning, AEW rampage has cooled off a bit, with the hour-long show’s viewership dropping in large part due to it being pre-recorded and airing in a late time slot.

AEW has made an effort to resolve the former by producing more live editions of it AEW rampage during this past fall. While the latter doesn’t seem to be changing permanently any time soon, fans are getting a one-off early edition of AEW rampage later this month.

TNT currently has the February 17 AEW rampage pulled in for 7 p.m. ET. This is three hours ahead of the usual 10 p.m. ET broadcast time. This programming shift is being made to accommodate TNT’s coverage of the NBA Rising Stars game.

AEW rampage has been subject to time changes in the past, as the show had previously moved to 7pm ET in May 2022 to accommodate the NBA playoffs. AEW dynamite has also migrated before, episodes airing on Tuesdays and Saturdays on occasions when other sports overlap.

The 17 February AEW rampage will be pre-recorded, as it will take place immediately after the February 15 live edition AEW dynamite. Despite being pre-recorded, AEW President Tony Khan has emphasized that he intends to put marquees on his Friday night schedule.

“I’m definitely looking for strong matches on Rampage,” said Khan. “With the depth of the roster, I think it’s a time for me to really put all hands on deck to put on the strongest shows I can on Friday. I always try to listen to the feedback from the fans, so going forward, I’m going to try and put things on the Friday show that I think have the best chance of bringing in that audience.

AEW returns to television on Wednesday with AEW dynamite on TBS at 8 p.m. ET.
