Troy Baker talks about longing for a Daredevil video game

Troy Baker has been on the front lines for several years now, demanding a video game based on Marvel’s Daredevil. The remarkable actor who has appeared in titles like The last of us, Uncharted 4, Bioshock Infinite, and countless others have loudly announced since 2020 that his dream project would be a game related to The Man Without Fear. And while Baker has said he would be willing to play in such a game, he mostly crosses his fingers and hopes it will come to light one day.

In a new conversation with ComicBook.com’s The last pods podcast, Baker shared why Daredevil is such an important character to him. From an early age, Baker said he was more drawn to Daredevil than any other superhero. Looking at Daredevil in the context of a video game, Baker also explained that he thinks there are so many opportunities with the character because of his unique abilities.

“Every kid finds their niche superhero. Some people are Superman. Batman was definitely something I was drawn to, but the one that was my soap opera, the one that I just serialized and doused was Daredevil. Daredevil is the one that I want to see; we’ve seen it as a movie, and we’ve seen him appear in games, but I want to see what a Daredevil game looks like, even as a player,” Baker explained. “The reason we play games is because that character can do something that I can’t. What happens if you can do something the character can’t? And I think that’s a really interesting idea. I don’t care if I’m either playing, acting in, directing, I don’t care. I just want that game to be made. I think there’s a very good chance to tell an interesting story that way.’

At this point, Marvel Games hasn’t announced any plans to make a Daredevil game yet, but it wouldn’t be a shock to see it happen one day. In recent years, Marvel has greatly expanded its presence in the gaming space, green-lighting and releasing projects related to Spider-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Man, Black Panther, Captain America, and many others. With this in mind, chances are Baker’s wish will come true one day. And if so, maybe he will be involved in the game in a personal capacity.

How do you feel about Baker continuing to beat the drum for a game of Daredevil? And which Marvel heroes would you like to see get their own video games in the future? Let me know in the comments or message me on Twitter at @MooreMan12.
