Trigun Stampede reveals new voices for old villains

The first episode of Trigun Stampede has arrived, and with it we see a familiar Humanoid Typhoon in a new series created by Studio ORANGE, the animation studio responsible for Beasts. While fans continue to wonder if this new series is a full reboot or a prequel to Vash The Stampede’s original journey, a recent casting announcement raises even more questions for viewers as the Nebraska Family has been cast in Japan. Several old characters have been confirmed to be returning, and each has a new look from Madhouse’s original anime adaptation.

For those unfamiliar with the Nebraska family, they are far from the deadliest adversaries Vash faces on his journey to confront his villainous brother Knives. They can certainly take the cake for the series’ wildest designs as the Nebraska clan uses science and technology to splice their son’s genetics to transform him into a behemoth taller than most buildings and establishments in the desert world . The voice of the Patriarch of Nebraska is voiced by Shigeru Chiba, who you may recognize as Buggy A piece fame, and the behemoth Gofsef will be brought to life by Kenji Nomura, who played Topo in Dragon Ball Super.

The storm returns

Now that the first episode of Trigun Stampede is available to stream on Crunchyroll, the streaming service describes the return of the Humanoid Typhoon and the world that made him a classic anime hero as follows:

“Vash the Stampede is a gleeful pacifist, so why does he have a $6 million bounty on his head? That’s what puzzles rookie reporter Meryl Stryfe and her jaded veteran partner when they investigate the vigilante and only find someone who hates blood. But their investigation turns up something horrific: his evil twin brother, Millions Knives.”

The Nebraska Family aren’t the only well-known villains confirmed to be returning in this new series, as not only has Knives been featured in the premiere episode, recently released trailers have given fans a new look at Monev The Gale and Legato, among others. Bluesummer.
