Tokyo Revengers Creator focuses on the end of the manga

Today marks the end of an era, manga fans. After more than five years, Tokyo Revengers has come to an end. The series has just released its final chapter under creator Ken Wakui, and if you haven’t heard, the finale has caused quite a bit of drama online. And now the artist speaks out about the whole.

On Twitter, Wakui posted a note to fans about the latest chapter of Tokyo Revengers now that it’s out. The post, as you can see below, features a special sketch featuring Mikey, Takemichi, and more. And of course, Wakui’s note thanks fans for sticking with the series from start to finish.

“Today… marks the final chapter of Tokyo Revengers. It’s been five and a half years since the series started, and I’ve been drawing the final chapters with tears in my eyes and laughter during the comedic scenes. Thank you to the readers who have had the best time with me and the Manji members all these years,” he wrote.

The controversy explained

Of course Tokyo Revengers Chapter 278 has a lot going for it as a finale, but fans aren’t going into the update with an open mind. Their interest was recently dashed when Wakui posted the penultimate chapter of the series. It was there that a plot twist in time surprised readers and turned the series on its head for many. After all, Tokyo Revengers built high stakes in his last act, but Chapter 277 beat them all by sending Mickey and Takemichi back in time. It was there that the two chose to relive life and disband the Manji gang after a sort of speed run. So it’s clear that revelation caught fans off guard.
