James Gunn is known for leading some major comic book projects, including the Guardians of the Universe movies for Marvel and The suicide squad and Peacekeeper for direct current. Last month it was announced that Gunn and Peter Safran have been appointed as co-chairmen and co-CEOs of DC Studios, a new entity created to replace the ailing DC Films. However, Gunn has two more Marvel projects in the works. The Guardians of the Galaxy holiday special coming to Disney+ next week and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. will hit theaters next year. While these will probably be Gunn’s last Marvel projects now that he’s taken on a bigger role at DC, some DC fans aren’t thrilled that the director is still plugging Marvel in.
Gunn shared a behind-the-scenes photo of The Guardians of the Galaxy holiday special on Twitter and someone commented, “You’re from DC, NOT Marvel!!!” Gunn replied, “As made clear in all the press, I’m both DC and Marvel until May. I’ve devoted most of the past 10 years of my life to the Guardians trilogy, and I’m not letting them or the thousands into the sting. of people who worked on it at the 11th hour. The world won’t end if you love both.” You can view the post below:

Look at this The Guardians of the Galaxy holiday special Before Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?
During a recent interview with ComicBook. coms Phase zero host, Brandon Davis, Gunn was asked if the Christmas special should be watched before the movie.
“Well, I always try to balance these things, so I love it,” Gunn explained. “People have to Holiday special. You’re obviously going to learn a lot about where the Guardians have been over the years. You know, you’re going to see how they live in Knowhere now. They have a new ship, the Bowie. They have a dog [who] is now part of their crew that has telekinesis named Cosmo. So where you learn all that, and then there are some bigger bits of spoiler-like knowledge. You’re going to learn all those things. In a sense the Holiday special was a Trojan horse for me to sneak in things that become important Part 3so I don’t have to spend a lot of time at the beginning of that movie to explain it.”
The Guardians of the Galaxy holiday special will be released on Disney+ on November 25. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. will be released in theaters on May 23, 2023.
