Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s mother was involved in a car accident earlier this week. Rock shared an image of Ata Johnson’s red Cadillac on his Instagram, with the right side of the front bumper and hood torn off. While it’s unclear how the crash happened, Rock shared that his mom is “ok” and “continuing evaluation.”

“Thank you God she’s fine,” Rock wrote. “Angels of Mercy were watching over my mom when she was in a car accident late last night. She will survive and be further evaluated.”

He praised Ata for being a survivor, noting that she has often come out of near-death experiences on the good side.

“This woman survived lung cancer, a difficult marriage, a head-on collision with a drunk driver and a suicide attempt,” Rock continued. “She’s a survivor, in ways that make angels and miracles real.”

Rock concluded his caption by thanking the local police and encouraging readers to cherish the time they have with their parents.

“Thank you LAPD & LAFD for being so caring and focused. Thanks for staying on the phone and talking me through it,” Rock concluded. “I have one parent left, so if you still have your mom and dad, make sure you hug them tight because you never know when you’re going to get that 3 a.m. phone call that we never want to receive.”
