The Rock reacts to Steve Austin’s workout video

WWE Wrestle Mania 39 boasts one of the most star-studded maps of all time. While no matches have been confirmed at this time, reports are circulating that undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns taking on Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is “100 percent the plan” as long as the latter’s schedule allows. In addition to that potential clash of generations main event, multi-time World Champion John Cena will also reportedly wrestle at the Showcase of the Immortals, which would be his first proper WrestleMania fight in nearly five years. As if that wasn’t enough, recent social media posts from WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin have sparked rumors that the Texas Rattlesnake could be gearing up for another in-ring return.

Austin addressed the rumors head-on in a Instagram video, in which he emphasizes that he only works out to get back in shape.

“People have speculated. ‘Hey Steve, what are you doing? What are you training for? Are you training for an event?’ You can speculate all you want, [but] “I just looked in the mirror and realized I looked stupid, so I called up my diet coach,” Austin said. As for body weight, probably sub 232 [lbs] the leanest I’ve ever been in. Anyway, that’s the bottom line. I looked in the mirror and I looked like St. I’m tired of looking like st, so I’m taking action to do something about it.”

This prompted a response from The Rock in the comments, who told his friend to “keep kicking.”

“Maaaan to anyone watching this let me just say how Steve talks here is exactly how he talks in person and why we became brothers,” Rock wrote. “Sincere, direct, no bullshit. Good or bad. You always get the real one. Keep pranking my brother. And you know I have to say, ‘Thanks for the house.'”

Despite Austin’s insistence, reports have noted that WWE is interested in bringing him back for another match. While details about the event or opponent remain unknown, a match offer for Austin is said to be on the table. Speculated in-ring opponents for Austin ranged from Cena to even CM Punk. Punk vs. Austin has been a dream match for over a decade, but the Second City Saint’s clumsy AEW status makes that fight unlikely.
