A new Assassin’s Creed Valhalla update has some disappointing news for those still playing the PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X game. More specifically, Ubisoft announced that two years after the game’s release, the final content update will be released on December 6, ending support for the best-selling installment in the series. According to Ubisoft, the update – dubbed Title Update 1.6.2 – will feature new content headlined by The Last Chapter, “a moving and intimate conclusion to Eivor’s saga.” According to Ubisoft, this piece of content is an epilogue that will “connect some of the storylines developed throughout the game and provide a conclusion to your time with the Raven Clan.”
Details on this content are sparse at the moment, but Ubisoft notes that players will need to complete the main storyline, complete the mythical Asgard and Jotunheim storylines, upgrade your settlement to level 5, and build the Jomsviking barracks and defeat all objectives of the Order of the Ancients and reveal its leader to access this new content.
Ubisoft also notes that with the end of post-launch support, there will no longer be timed festival events in Ravensthorpe. Meanwhile, those who didn’t get the chance to participate in the Yule, Ostara, Sigrblot, or Oskoreia Festivals can still redeem the rewards associated with them through all vendors after completing The First Night quest or Samhain. This will of course cost you some silver.
Finally, the game’s latest update will also add a long-awaited feature; the ability to keep your hood up at all times. Accessible in the in-game options menu, this new option keeps the hood on even when Eivor takes off his cloak. Of course, this is purely cosmetic, meaning it won’t affect gameplay or detection.
“On behalf of the entire team, we would like to thank you for your love and support over the past two years. It is not without emotion that we bid farewell to the saga of the Wolf-Kissed,” added Ubisoft, while also teasing a few. “surprises” are kept for later.
