The Invisible Man star Oliver Jackson-Cohen adapts as the DCU’s Batman in new fan art

James Gunn and Peter Safran have officially ushered in a new era of DC Comics-inspired movies with the announcement of their new slate, and things are certainly off to a good start. The co-CEOs of DC Studios revealed that Commands from creatures, Waller, Superman: Legacy, The authority, Booster Gold, The brave and the bold, Lanterns, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow And Swamp thing are all expected to be released in the next two to three years. As DC Studios focuses on a more streamlined universe with just one actor playing their characters in film, TV, animation, and video games, there’s one project on the slate that could cause headaches. The brave and the bold follows Batman/Bruce Wayne and his son Damian Wayne as they embark on a father-son adventure. Gunn plans to cast a new Dark Knight for DC’s main universe, which will co-exist with Matt Reeves The batter universe, which seriously disrupts their plans for less splitting. Nevertheless, fans are starting to spread ideas about who might play the new Batman, and one artist seems to think that Oliver Jackson-Cohen (The invisible man) was able to don the cape and cowl in the DCU.

An artist on Instagram known as @Bobby_Art envisioned what The Invisible Man star could look like as the Caped Crusader. In the fan art, Jackson-Cohen takes on the classic Batman look, fully kitted out with a blue cape and hood and a gray suit. It’s rumored there won’t be any actors in the DCU’s new Batman, but this is a fun take on what we were able to see. You can check out the fan art below!

Gunn and Safran started out as co-CEOs of DC Studios last year, and it’s safe to say DC’s future looks bright. When the duo was announced by the new boss of Warner Bros. Discovery, they released a statement about their enthusiasm for the job.

“We are honored to be the stewards of these DC characters that we’ve loved since we were kids,” Gunn and Safran added in a joint statement. “We look forward to working with the most talented writers, directors and actors in the world to create an integrated, multi-layered universe that still allows for the individual expression of the artists involved. Our commitment to Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Harley Quinn and the rest of DC’s stable of characters is matched only by our dedication to the wonder of human possibility that these characters represent. We are excited to revive the theater experience around the world while we have some of the greatest, greatest, and grandest stories ever told.”

The next DC Studios movie to hit theaters will be Shazam! Anger of the Gods. Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line describe the film as follows: “Endowed with the powers of the gods, Billy Batson and his fellow foster kids are still learning how to juggle teenage life with adult superhero alter egos. But when the daughters of Atlas, a vengeful trio of ancient gods, arrive on Earth in search of the magic stolen from them long ago.

Shazam! Anger of the Gods stars recurring cast members Zachary Levi (Thor: Ragnarok) as Shazam; Asher Angel (Andy Mack) as Billy Batson; Jack Dylan Grazer (The chapter two) as Freddy Freeman; Adam Brody (Promising young woman) as superhero Freddy; Ross Butler (Raya and the Last Dragon) as superhero Eugene; great good (Day shift) as superhero Darla; DJ Cotrona (GI Joe: Retaliation) as superhero Pedro; Grace Caroline Currey (Annabelle: Creation) as Mary Bromfield / Superhero Mary; Faith Herman (This is us) as Darla Dudley; Ian Chen (A dog trip) as Eugene Choi; Jovan Armand (“Second Chances”) as Pedro Pena; Marta Milans (White lines) as Rosa Vasquez; Cooper Andrews (The living Dead) as Victor Vasquez; with Djimon Hounsou (A Quiet Place Part II) as Wizard.
