The Flash Showrunner says Grant Gustin “will always be the Flash for some.”

Warner Bros. Discovery has made some big changes to the way the company does business, including the way DC Films is managed, and newly appointed CEO David Zaslav has turned things around for good. One of the films that has been a controversial subject has to be the Ezra Miller directed film The flash due to the actors’ ongoing legal issues, and WB spent some time figuring out what to do with the film. Zaslav would take on James Gunn and Peter Safran as the new co-CEOs of DC Studios, and The flash would be confirmed for release later this year. Oddly enough, the CWs The flash will wrap up its final season around the time the movie is released. Some fans will still have an opinion on who is the best Scarlet Speedster and it looks like the showrunner of the series has already thrown his pick into the ring. In a new interview with TV line, The flash showrunner Eric Wallace revealed that Grant Gustin is his favorite Flash.

“I do believe there’s a world for all things Flash – Elseworlds, TV, movie… whatever. I love the character so much. Grant [Gustin] will always be the Flash to a certain generation, just like Christopher Reeve was Superman to my generation,” Wallace said. “That doesn’t mean I’m not excited to see Michael B. Jordan play a Black Superman – I can’t wait for that – or the other Supermans, like Henry Cavill or Brandon Routh. I love them all, but I’m grew up with Christopher Reeve. So there’s a whole group of people who grow up saying, ‘Grant was my Flash.’ But then there’s going to be a new generation of people saying, ‘Ezra Miller, they’re my Flash too.'”

Gunn and Safran started as co-CEOs of DC Studios last year and it’s safe to say DC’s future looks bright. When the duo was announced by the new boss of Warner Bros. Discovery, they released a statement about their enthusiasm for the job.

“We are honored to be the stewards of these DC characters that we’ve loved since we were kids,” Gunn and Safran added in a joint statement. “We look forward to working with the most talented writers, directors and actors in the world to create an integrated, multi-layered universe that still allows for the individual expression of the artists involved. Our commitment to Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Harley Quinn and the rest of DC’s stable of characters is matched only by our dedication to the wonder of human possibility that these characters represent. We are excited to revive the theater experience around the world while we have some of the greatest, greatest, and grandest stories ever told.”

The next DC Studios movie to hit theaters will be Shazam! Anger of the Gods. Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line describe the film as follows: “Endowed with the powers of the gods, Billy Batson and his fellow foster kids are still learning how to juggle teenage life with adult superhero alter egos. But when the daughters of Atlas, a vengeful trio of ancient gods, arrive on Earth in search of the magic stolen from them long ago.

Shazam! Anger of the Gods stars recurring cast members Zachary Levi (Thor: Ragnarok) as Shazam; Asher Angel (Andy Mack) as Billy Batson; Jack Dylan Grazer (The chapter two) as Freddy Freeman; Adam Brody (Promising young woman) as superhero Freddy; Ross Butler (Raya and the Last Dragon) as superhero Eugene; great good (Day shift) as superhero Darla; DJ Cotrona (GI Joe: Retaliation) as superhero Pedro; Grace Caroline Currey (Annabelle: Creation) as Mary Bromfield / Superhero Mary; Faith Herman (This is us) as Darla Dudley; Ian Chen (A dog trip) as Eugene Choi; Jovan Armand (“Second Chances”) as Pedro Pena; Marta Milans (White lines) as Rosa Vasquez; Cooper Andrews (The living Dead) as Victor Vasquez; with Djimon Hounsou (A Quiet Place Part II) as Wizard.
