Eric Kripke returns to the director’s chair. Saturday afternoon the showrunner behind Prime Videos The boys not only revealed the title of the show’s season 4 finale, but also confirmed that he will be the one to direct the episode. The script, titled “Assassination Run,” was written by R-rated comic book alumni Jessica Chou and David Reed. It is not Kripke’s first time directing a television show. During the 15 years of Supernaturalanother show he created earned the screenwriter directing credits for a few episodes.

Judging by the title of the finale, it won’t end too well for at least one of the politically focused characters of the show’s ensemble. As teased in the season three finale, Robert Singer (Jim Beaver) is running for president and chooses Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) as his running mate. Given Neuman’s connections to Vought and the world’s supers, there’s no telling what antics the series will be up to next.

The only thing that’s certain about The Boys’ upcoming season is that it will somehow cross paths with Gen V.

“There is definitely crossover and we are doing our best to design a universe where some of the issues and storylines in season 3 carry over to the first season in VarsityEric Kripke, showrunner of The Boys, said last year. The boys. There’s Soldier Boy and so forth, but also some new storylines that take place in that season of the spin-off that we need to pick up and include in Season 4 of the show.”

“It’s a very different corner of the world and it’s a different concern and theme, but it was interesting,” he added. “I give Kevin Feige a lot of credit because now that we’re sticking our toe into trying to build a universe and get it right… it’s hard enough to keep one goddamn show straight, but to keep two shows straight , let them all be entertaining… is a whole new layer of that.”

The first three seasons of the boys, along with its animated spin-off Devilish, now streaming on Amazon Prime video. Season four and a new spin-off series, Gen V, will premiere this year.
