Powered by an air-cooled 700cc 4-stroke 26kW flat-twin engine, the Syrena Sport was never intended for production but served more as a test bed for various technical technologies. However, under pressure from the Polish public, plans were slowly being hatched to mass-produce the pretty little coupe. But given the politics behind the Iron Curtain, the project was allegedly scrapped at the urging of Polish Prime Minister Józef Cyrankiewicz or Communist Party First Secretary Władysław Gomułka.
