A Suzuki Jimny Ute remains a dream for now, but the five-door version could provide the basic ingredients for a pint-sized pickup.
A Suzuki Jimny Ute remains high on Suzuki Australia’s wish list, but company leaders say there are no plans for a workhorse variant for now.
Whether Suzuki would consider a two-door or four-door Ute is anyone’s guess; drive created artistic impressions of both (above and below).

Suzuki Japan hasn’t announced any plans for an off-road pickup yet – although there appears to be some catching up in customer demand for a Suzuki Jimny-ute.
“There was no discussion of a Suzuki Jimny-ute, but if one were available we would grab it with both hands,” said Suzuki Australia boss Michael Pachota.
“It remains high on our wish list but at the moment we have had no communication or indication that a Jimny Ute is in Suzuki’s future model plans.
“Nevertheless, Suzuki has surprised us before, so we remain hopeful.”
Suzuki Japan have previously teased Ute concepts of the Jimny (pictured below), but they never got beyond motor show teasing.
