the Spanish stylist Paco Rabanne died at the age of 88. The information was confirmed this Friday the 3rd on the social networks of the brand he created: “Casa de Paco Rabanne wants to honor our visionary designer and founder who passed away today at the age of 88. As one of the most important fashion figures of the 20th century, his legacy will remain a constant source of inspiration.” The cause of death has not yet been announced and according to the international press he was at home in Brittany, Francethen died. Francisco Rabaneda Cuervo, a well-known name in fashion and also in perfumery, was born in Pasaia, Basque Country, on February 18, 1934. Passionate about France, he went into exile in the country during the civil war. He studied architecture at the National Superior School of Fine Arts in Paris and used his creativity to create pieces with the most diverse materials, in addition to his concern for the issue of volume and spaces. His first steps in fashion art were designing accessories for the haute couture collections of brands such as Nina Ricci, Balenciaga, Givenchy and Pierre Cardin. Soon he would show his own creations. But it wasn’t until 1989, during Nuit du Chocolat, that he impressed the audience by showing off a chocolate dress. Paco Rabanne thought beyond the catwalks and invested in a perfume brand bearing his name. He even created fragrances especially for the Rock in Rio in 2011, the Black XS Rock in Rio.
