DC Studios has finally been released Shazam! Anger of the Gods this week, and the movie finally gives us our first look at the final chapter of the DC Extended Universe slate. Shazam! Anger of the Gods has gotten some pretty positive early response, and now that the reviews are out, we’re finally getting some in-depth critiques on the movie. It was revealed quite early on that Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) will appear in the movie Shazam! sequel as the studio chose to reveal it through a new TV spot. But it looks like there could have been other big cameos. Brandon Davis of ComicBook.com recently had a conversation with Shazam!: Anger of the Gods director David F. Sandberg, and he revealed that Batman and Superman almost appeared in the sequel.
“Yeah. I mean, we kind of get around it because we have a big dome, a big force field dome. We stole that from The Simpsons,” Sandberg told us. “No, but I thought early on that we should have a scene, at least in a news report or something, where you can see from afar something like Superman trying to get in or Batman standing outside pounding the dome or “Something like that. That got dropped pretty quickly, because that also opens up a whole other can of worms, because then you really start thinking about it. Well, they’re obviously here, so what’s going on?”
