Since the start of the scandal, Shakira has already released four tracks that sting her ex-husband, but the most recent one leaves no doubt about the message she wants to pass on.

Despite suffering the end of the relationship of more than ten years that produced two children, Shakira turned pain into art and a lot of money.

As reported by Marca (via Mirror), the new song has already grossed $512,000 (£419,150) on YouTube; $500,000 (£409,330) on Amazon; $360,000 from Spotify (£294,720) and $1.2 million (£980,000) from Apple.

In the lyrics, the singer of Hips do not lie says, “I am worth two out of 22. You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo. You traded in a Rolex for a Casio… You worked out a lot, but also worked your brain a bit.”

The verses were addressed to Piqué, who usually collects watches and luxury cars. The player himself responded to the trajectory through the Kings League, a football competition that he recently created.

In a live, Piqué announced that the Japanese brand Casio would become the new sponsor of the League.

“We have an agreement with Casio,” Piqué said to much laughter. “I’m serious…we made a deal with Casio for the Kings [League]yes, because we count down a lot… this watch is for life I tell you!”

Then he handed out the watches to his guests. However, the player’s reaction to Shakira’s song’s lyrics ultimately served to generate more publicity for the song, as he walks with a more worn-out image after all the confusion.
