Scream 6 Actor Shares JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Connection

Scream 6 takes the murders from Woodsboro and transplants them to the Big Apple, while the survivors from the previous film try to evade the murderous intent of a brand new Ghostface on their trail. In a new Vanity Fair feature, the “core four” members of the new horror sequel sit down to chat about the latest movie, along with interesting tidbits from their lives. Shockingly, one of the actors happens to be a fan of Hirohiko Araki’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and clearly has a soft spot for one of the characters.

Mason Gooding, Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrera, and Jasmin Savoy Brown play Chad, Tara, Sam, and Mindy, respectively, in the new horror movie that is making its way through the box office. Despite surviving the events of Scream 5, it’s clear the quartet isn’t safe just yet, as it appears a much deadlier version of the classic character has returned to chase them across New York City. In the new discussion between the actors, Mason reveals that he named his dog after one of the greatest characters from Stardust Crusaders, who also happens to be a dog himself.

The bizarre adventure of Scream

In the new Vanity Fair interview, Mason Gooding reveals his dog’s name is Iggy, based on the dog who had a standard named “The Fool”. Jenna Ortega remembered the name of Gooding’s dog, while also remembering that it was in fact named after the Stardust Crusader itself. Although Iggy didn’t survive the fight against Dio Brando and his nefarious army, he remains one of the most famous characters thanks to being a cute dog with Stand powers.

While we haven’t yet seen Ghostface making his way through the universe that gave us the Joestars, the entry into the anime franchise, Diamond is unbreakable, has given us a nefarious serial killer who could put the Woodsboro slasher to shame. Yoshikage Kira used his Stand, Killer Queen, to completely wipe out his prey while holding on to horrific trinkets that happened to be the hands of his victims. Fortunately, Kira was eventually defeated by the Joestars of this entry and the sleepy town of Morioh found peace again.

What do you think of this hilarious connection between anime and horror movies? What is your favorite example of horror in anime? Feel free to let us know in the comments or call me directly on Twitter @EVComedy to talk about all things comics, anime and the world of the Joestars.
