Wild times for sure
RRR being left out of the beat picture is a tragedy, it’s not a censure. It’s the only movie I’ve given 5 stars to and I wish it was in it, but I’m not mad that whatever was nominated deserved to be

Weird year
-NOPE, RRR*, and DECISION TO have everything rejected 🙁
-THE BATMAN got crafting attention!
-Animated Feature went as well as it could have gone
-doesn’t editing usually make more interesting choices?
-BABYLON and EMPIRE OF LIGHT did better than I thought

Lots of snobs
It’s only natural that a lot of snubs would happen in a good movie year (The Woman King, RRR, Decision to Leave chief, among others).
But hey @The Academy, let’s see what we do with the best photo/best international category. Double dipping there feels wrong.

Some big misses this year
Some notable snubs this year: The Woman King, RRR, Decision to Leave.
And while I know it’s not really doing the rounds on the awards circuit, I’m a little pissed that The Northman wasn’t nominated for anything.
BUT, overall a solid showing for this year’s Oscars.— Marcus McAllister (@CaptainMcWow) January 24, 2023
