The actor Robert Pattinson tend to do whatever it takes to stay in shape for their movie roles, from Edward Cullen in Dusk to Bruce Wayne The batter.
But one thing that bothers him is the body standards demanded of men in Hollywood.
“Even just watching your calorie intake is extremely addictive — and you don’t realize how insidious it is until it’s too late,” Pattinson tells ES Magazine (via Variety) in a new cover story.
While he’s never had any direct issues with his body image, the actor said he’s tried every “fashion imaginable” to stay in shape or not put on too much weight.
He even went on a crazy potato diet, eating nothing else for two weeks.
“I once only ate potatoes for two weeks as a detox. Just boiled potatoes and pink Himalayan salt. Apparently it’s a cleanse… You’re definitely losing weight,’ he assured.
Robert Pattinson wants to try a new diet in 2023
According to him, the intention for this new year is to try to eat more consistent things.
“I found out that there is a diet where you only eat meat products [bacon, salame, salsicha] and cheese all the time. But I didn’t know you can’t have beer, because that makes absolutely no sense,” he said.
Not long ago, the actor also spoke about what he thinks about physical exercises and the topic delivered. Prior to the release of the Batman movie, he spilled some details about his workout regimen – or lack thereof.
“I think if you train all the time, you’re part of the problem. You set a precedent. Nobody did that in the 1970s. Until James Dean. I literally barely do anything,” he said.
He later admitted that those comments came back to “haunting”.
“I always find it very embarrassing to talk about how you are. I play Batman. I have to train, but I got into so many problems because I said I don’t train even with my trainer,” he admitted.
A new movie will be released soon
It’s worth remembering that Pattinson is now promoting his new movie, Mickey 17, directed by Bong Joon-ho. He stated that the movie is “completely crazy” and unlike anything he’s ever done.
Mickey 17 is scheduled for March 2024.
