Rick and Morty Star Unwraps Their Favorite Scene From Rick And Beth Season 6 (Exclusive)

In the sixth season of Rick And Morty, the Smith family wrestled with some wild challenges, but at the same time each member of the Adult Swim clan learned new truths about themselves. Perhaps no character has undergone bigger changes during these final installments than Beth Smith, the matriarch of the family who had an incredible relationship with her own doppelgänger, “Space Beth”. Recently here at Comicbook.com, we had the opportunity to speak with the voice of Beth, Sarah Chalke, to talk about the favorite scene she shared with her fictional father, Rick Sanchez.

Rick and Beth’s relationship has not always been a solid one, with previous seasons revealing that Rick Sanchez cloned his daughter and created two versions of Smith’s mother figure in the “regular Beth” and “Space Beth”. While the former lingered around her family on Earth, the latter traversed the galaxy collecting devices that put her on a level playing field with her father. To this day, we still don’t know which Beth is the “real one,” and that question may never be answered.

Will the real Beth Smith please stand up?

Speaking to Sarah Chalke, the actor revealed her favorite scene with Rick this season, in which the two members of the Smith family come to realize that they may be closer than they initially thought:

And one of my favorite scenes to shoot, maybe in the whole season, was when she goes in to talk to Rick [in “Bethic Twinstinct”] and she’s a little embarrassed. They forgot the ice cream and then forgetting the ice cream becomes this metaphor and Rick did it too. And while all this is happening, they also take the thread out of the space whale. And that’s just a whole thing that isn’t even discussed. But I feel like it’s just an interesting moment between Rick and Beth.”

Rick and Morty’s the sixth season has a few episodes left before the season finale arrives, and it should be interesting to see if Beth and Rick have any more shared moments.

What was your favorite Beth moment in this final season? Feel free to let us know in the comments or call me directly on Twitter @EVComedy to talk about all things comics, anime and the world of Adult Swim.
