Rick and Morty Star Responds to Jerry’s Big Wins in Season 6 (Exclusive)

Rick and Morty’s The sixth season has given every member of the Smith family new knowledge, but perhaps no character has gone through more than Jerry, the patriarchal member of the family who remains unemployed and can never quite get his life back on track. With the premiere episode revealing a big reveal about the universe this Jerry Smith comes from, our very own Nick Valdez had the opportunity to chat with none other than the voice of Jerry himself, Chris Parnell, who you may also recognize its role as part of Saturday Night Live, Sagittariusand 30 Rock to name a few.

Jerry’s role in the first episode of this final season revealed that this version of Jerry had been accidentally nicked from another universe, with Rick and Morty taking the wrong version of the character from “Jerry Day Care”, a location the mad scientist was used for housing. alternate versions of Morty’s father. After this season’s premiere, Jerry had to deal with his wife’s falling in love with the alternate version of herself, Space Beth, and find himself in a horribly awkward scenario involving his own mother and a future dictated by a fortune cookie.

Chris Parnell had this to say when it came to the victories the head of the Smith Clan has had this season, along with the mind-boggling revelations that Jerry had to step up to the plate a little more than in previous seasons:

“That was really fun because Jerry got a lot darker and grittier than he usually is. And that was an interesting side of him to see, so I loved that. And then the night people, we all went crazy and that was really nice But yeah it’s always nice to see Jerry win because Jerry can be pretty pathetic sometimes And so to see him get a little win is satisfying as the guy who plays Jerry then just as a fan .”

What do you think of Jerry’s current status in this final season? Do you think this universe’s original Jerry will return at some point in the near future?
