Pokemon Go Valentine’s Day Event First Details Leak

January is almost over, and pokemon go already has a handful of events to look forward to in the month of February. It looks like the number will increase as the first details of a Valentine’s Day event have leaked. Interestingly, the information comes from the App Store, from all places! In the game’s listing, a “What’s New” section mentions a “Valentine’s Day Event and Luvdisc Limited Research Day”. At the time of writing, Niantic has not provided any official details about the event, so fans will have to wait patiently for more to be revealed!

A screenshot of the App Store listing was shared by Pokemon Go Hub on Twitter and can be found in the Tweet below.

Given its shape and color, Luvdisc has long been a staple of pokemon goValentine’s Day events, next to Alomomola. Last year’s Valentine’s Day event included a Global Challenge and Collection Challenges for players to participate in. It remains to be seen how things will play out differently this year, but hopefully Niantic will offer around the holidays!

While we don’t know exactly what to expect from the Valentine’s Day event, pokemon go has already described some major events for the month of February. The game’s next Community Day event will take place on February 5 and will put the spotlight on Noibat. Noivern is one of the hardest to get Pokemon in the game, so the event should make many players happy! The Pokemon Go Tour: Hoenn will also take place in February, both as an in-person event and a global event that all players can participate in. Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre will make their debuts on the Pokemon Go Tour, and players who purchase a Masterwork Research story during the event can get a Shiny Jirachi!
