One Piece Cliffhanger drops a clone bomb

A piece has made all sorts of notable revelations about the series’ lore with the Egghead arc kicking off the series’ final saga overall, and the cliffhanger of the series’ latest chapter dropped a major bombshell with the reveal that one character actually is a clone! With Luffy and the Straw Hats living in Dr. Landing Vegapunk on their first proper adventure after everything that happened on Wano, fans are aware of some of the biggest mysteries of the series at large. But there’s been a tease that we’ll be seeing more of soon.

Complicating things for Luffy and the Straw Hats was the invading CP0 that not only brought with it some faces from the Straw Hats’ past, but the latest chapter revealed that there is an even more important face from the past hiding amongst the group. As CP0 finds out, Stussy is actually a clone of a member of the legendary Rocks pirate group who has an affiliation with Dr. Vegapunk which will be further explored in the rest of the upcoming chapters.

Who is Stussy a clone of?

Chapter 1072 of A piece sees the members of CP0 make their way to the Vegapunk core lab, and during their attack, Stussy suddenly bites Kaku’s neck. Stussy surprises the CP0 members, revealing a pair of bat wings and revealing that she put Kaku to sleep while threatening to do the same to Lucci. It is then explained that Stussy is actually a clone of Miss Buckingham Stussy, who is not only a former member of the Rocks pirates, but is also the mother of former Edward Weevil, former member of the Seven Warlords.

It is explained that Stussy is actually the very first clone successfully created by Vegapunk and the MADS organization, which is why she has probably been working undercover on something else all along. She has ties to both the underworld and the world government thanks to her various missions, but now it seems like she’s been on a secret third venture all along. It remains to be seen why she did all this for the MADS organization.

What do you think of this revelation from Stussy? What do you think it means for the rest of the Vegapunk-focused arc? Let us know all your thoughts about it in the comments! You can even contact me directly about all things animation and other cool stuff @Valdezology on Twitter!
