Nintendo announces Nintendo Direct for February 2023

Nintendo’s next Nintendo Direct presentation will take place this week on February 8, the company announced this week. While specific games were not mentioned, Nintendo did say it would focus on games launching in the first half of the year and that the show would run for about 40 minutes. Given that wording, that means there’s a good chance we’ll be seeing more of it The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom of this Direct to see how that game comes out in May.

Nintendo tweeted about the Direct as usual this week, alerting fans to the stream where it airs this Wednesday. The next Direct will go live that day at 2PM PST.

As always, you can rewatch the Nintendo Direct afterwards to see anything you might have missed the first time around, but you’ll probably hear enough about it online anyway as something as big as Tears of the Kingdom will show up.

What games will be in the Nintendo Direct?

Like any other Direct before it, this one was subject to rumors and theories about when it would take place and what it would entail. Nintendo typically refrains from offering specifics unless it’s targeting a major franchise like the Pokemon games so while there’s no official indication of what will be shown in this Direct we have an idea or two based on of what comes first. half of the year.

In February, Nintendo Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe like Octopath Traveler 2 both appear on February 24. March is a bit sparse in terms of major Nintendo releases, but April will bring the release of Minecraft Legends. And then in May we have the new Zelda game, Tears of the Kingdom. These are all major contenders for games that could appear at this event.

There is also Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp which has no release date yet after a long delay. However, rumors have been circulating recently suggesting that this game could just get a stealth release after all to get it away from Nintendo. Whether that is the case, we will see on Wednesday.
