New Red Dead Redemption 2 update is big news for Red Dead Online players

A new Red Dead Redemption 2 update has been released by Rockstar Games via PC, PS4 and Xbox One. What the game’s first update in 2023, and the first since September 2022, does, we don’t know. While Rockstar Games has released the patch notes for the update, the respective patch notes do not reveal any information about the update or why it was released. That said, players have since found it solves at least one major problem Red Dead online players.

On Twitter, Red Dead Net reports that with the installation of the update, the long-standing bug that soft-locked your game when you visited a stable while playing on PC has finally been fixed. We don’t know why it took so long to resolve this, but it has finally been resolved.

Below you can check out the official patch notes for the update – Update 1.31 – as they are provided by Rockstar Games. In addition, you can also watch a video showing that the aforementioned bug has been fixed.

As always, we’ll keep you posted as we learn more about the update, which obviously does more than convey the patch notes. How much more we don’t know. You’d assume if there was something important it would be outlined, but again, the above solution is pretty noteworthy and it’s not marked so who knows what’s going on.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The game is also playable on PS5, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X, but only through backward compatibility. There’s still no word that the game will be coming to these platforms via a proper port by default. Click here for more information on the Rockstar Games title.
