New Metal Gear Solid update is bad news for fans

A new update on the Metal Gear solid franchise is bad news for the long-running but ever-dormant Konami IP. The update comes from series creator Hideo Kojima. As you may know, Kojima parted ways with Konami in 2015 after 29 years with the company. During this time, he mostly created Metal gear Firm. And if you’re familiar with the split, you know it was a messy end to the relationship. Despite this, there are rumors here and there that the couple has mended the relationship. Based on this claim, the rumors vary, but don’t worry about the splintering claims because the basis of the rumors is not true.

Speaking of his Brain structure podcastKojima noted that he has been hearing fan requests to return to work Metal Gear solid and other franchises he worked on while at Konami. That said, it’s not happening. Here’s what Kojima specifically had to say about these requests: “I view this as a positive thing, but as adults, everyone needs to know that this isn’t going to happen.”

Of course Kojima said in the past Metal Gear Solid V would be the last Metal Gear solid game, and once he left Konami, the nail was only driven deeper into the coffin. Yet there are rumors to the contrary, but now we know that there is nothing wrong with these rumors. Konami could continue the series in the future, but it won’t be with Kojima, and if Kojima isn’t involved, it’s not really Metal Gear solidis the?

Obviously things can always change, but it’s hard to see Kojima changing his mind right now. If he kept working Metal Gear solid again, he probably would have by now. It is clear that he wants to work on new things, including movies. Going back to the Konami franchise would go against everything he’s been saying lately, but if you’re holding onto a glimmer of hope, it sounds like it’s time to finally let it go.
