Natalya secures her spot in WWE’s Women’s Elimination Chamber Match on SmackDown

The Elimination Chamber is upon us and tonight’s WWE SmackDown featured an Elimination Chamber Qualifier Match to secure a spot in the match. Natalya, Shotzi, Shayna Baszler and Zelina Vega battled for that next spot and on several counts it looked like Baszler would take the win. At one point she locked Vega in a Kirifuda clutch and she seemed to fade away, but Natalya broke it up. She escaped the finisher and then took Vega in the Sharpshooter, and as soon as she tapped Natalya, she secured her spot in the match.

The bell and everyone rushed forward, but almost everyone converged on Baszler early. Shotzi and Natalya were alone for a minute, but Vega pulled Shotzi out and threw her into the LED screen. Vega and Natalya went for it and Vega rolled her up but Natalya kicked out. Natalya kicked out of the pin as Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan watched backstage.

Vega hit a huge move that flipped Natalya into a pin, but Baszler returned to break it up. Then she hit a back breaker on Shotzi and followed it up with a strike on Shotzi’s wrist. That was broken by Natalya, though she was kicked in the chest. Baszler knocked Vega down and then hit the knee on Natalya’s face in a pin, but she kicked out.

When we came back from intermission, Shotzi attacked Baszler and Baszler again tried to go for the wrist, but she was countered and rolled up, though she dodged the pin. Shotzi then hit big kicks and collided with Baszler’s back, following it with a dive through the ropes to Baszler on the outside.

Vega went up and hit a Moonsault that took down both Baszler and Shotzi on the outside, though Natalya came down and threw Vega aside and Shotzi rolled into the ring. She tried the sharpshooter, but Vega broke it out and hit the Bulldog.

Shotzi then hit a vicious German Suplex on Vega, though Baszler then hit one on Shotzi. Baszler closed a submission on Vega, and she faded, but Natalya charged and Baszler let go and attacked her. Natalya escaped and threw Baszler out of the ring. She then went after Vega and locked up the Sharpshooter, and this time got it, when Vega tapped.

Natalya has secured her spot in the competition and now it will consist of Raquel Rodriguez, Asuka, Liv Morgan, Nikki Cross and Natalya. The final spot in the match will be decided next week on Monday Night Raw in a Fatal 4-Way Qualifying Match, which will feature Candice LeRae, Michin, Carmella and Piper Niven.
