Naruto explains why Amado really wants Kawaki’s karma

Boruto: Naruto next generations is now in the midst of a major turning point in the manga’s latest arc, and the latest chapter of the series has gotten to the bottom of what Amado really wants from Kawaki’s Karma Power! Amado has been one of the more curious additions to the series, as when he was first introduced as a member of Kara, it was immediately apparent that the scientist was looking for something different from the rest of the group. Now that’s even more true than ever, because now that he’s fully aligned with the Hidden Leaf Village, he’s starting to raise even more questions.

When he implanted a new karma into Kawaki’s body, it began to raise questions about what his real plan might be, as not only was it revealed that he planted the idea in Kawaki’s mind in the first place, but he even gave Kawaki more powers as a result. As Amado laid out more of his reasoning behind the investigation of the Otsutsuki clan’s powers and the karma sign in the latest chapter, it was revealed that he was the power of resurrection as a way to resurrect his dead daughter.

Why does Amado want Kawaki’s karma power?

Chapter 75 of Boruto: Naruto next generations sees Amado reveal he had a daughter who died 12 years earlier of an unknown illness. Doctors couldn’t cure it, so Amado discovered that a real solution would be to clone her into a new body. Although he implanted this clone with memories and she looked just like his daughter, it was not the resurrection Amado had hoped for. Moreover, Isshiki Otsutsuki then approached him to bring her back completely.

When Amado discovered that this plan would not work, he figured out that a path to bring her back would be the resurrection power of Karma’s power. By putting his daughter’s DNA into Kawaki’s latest Karma, it has now been mixed in such a way that Kawaki only needs to put this Karma into a new clone body to properly bring Amado’s daughter back. But it seems like too simple (or noble) a plan that Shikamaru and the others don’t trust it right away.
