The year kicked off with a massive new story focused on Sasuke and Sakura as the anime got its spin-off, Naruto: Sasuke’s Story – The Uchiha and the Celestial Stardust. This spin-off helped show some rarely seen sides of the cold-blooded and mysterious shinobi, helping to further emphasize why fans are still in love with him all these years later.
Sasuke has remained one of the core facets in the franchise for so many years now, and that’s because fans continue to learn about all these other layers hidden underneath. It’s a far cry from when he was also at his deadliest using dangerous powers, and when the Hidden Leaf Village was his main target. What’s next for Sasuke in Naruto?
Boruto: Naruto next generations finally returns to the anime’s material with its next installment as it will adapt the Code Invasion arc. This is the first return to the events of the manga in just over a year and will finally pick up properly on the events of the fight with Isshiki Otsutsuki. As for Sasuke, like Naruto, he will also face a significant loss of power and thus will be running out of options to face whatever major threat comes his way.
With the anime finally getting going with the Code Invasion arc, Boruto and Kawaki will need all the help they can get as the last Kara member makes his move against the rest to get revenge for Isshiki. But that won’t be the only wrinkle added to the equation, as there will be some major new characters, big moves for many of the others, and plenty more to keep the anime going for weeks to come.
