My Hero Academia is now gearing up for the final batch of episodes for the sixth season, and it’s kicking off in style with an in-depth look at the anime’s character design for Deku’s dark hero makeover! This year’s sixth season of the series follows the heroes as they reflect on all the damage done in the first half of the season last year. It’s been a different case for Deku, though, as while the others were awake and soaking up all the emotional damage, he consulted with the previous One For All remnants.
The latest episode of My Hero Academia watched Deku talk to those within One For All, and realized he has a much heavier burden on his shoulders now that All For One and Tomura Shigaraki have become so much stronger. This is why he decides to go out on his own towards the end of the episode, and the anime has also given him a brand new look to go along with this dark new direction. You can take a closer look at this new Dark Deku design below, as spotted by @DabisPoleDance on Twitter:

Dark Deku has come to Season 6 of My Hero Academia
The cliffhanger from episode 131 of My Hero Academia officially kicked off the final act of the anime series at large. With so many changes in the world during the first part of the season so far, Deku has changed things up even more. He decides to reveal his One For All secret to the rest of his former Class 1-A classmates and then decides to leave school forever. Deku is now venturing out all alone as he has decided to put all the burden on his shoulders.
This has resulted in his new vigilante-like makeover. Using the mask that was always part of his costume, he has now taken on a much darker appearance as he channels every last bit of One For All’s power. It will make for an intense run of episodes before Season 6 comes to a close, and now Deku is going to literally break himself as he tries to balance all the hopes that are now on him.
