My Hero Academia celebrates the New Year with adorable cosplay art

2023 is the year of the rabbit according to the Chinese zodiac, and manga artists have done their best to put some of their greatest characters in rabbit outfits to ring in the new year on a proper note. Fortunately for Kohei Horikoshi and his artistic assistants, My Hero Academia has a rabbit hero that gains popularity in Mirko over the years. With the high-jumping crime fighter playing a major role in the anime adaptation’s sixth season, an assistant to Horikoshi has envisioned the Class 1-A female students sporting Mirko’s aesthetic.

With the heroes, young and old, fighting against Shigaraki and his troops in the first half of My Hero Academias In the sixth season, Mirko might well take on the MVP role for the proceedings. The Rabbit Hero did her best to prevent the young user of All For One from waking up to use his new powers, and in the battle against Dr. Garaki’s High-End Nomu lost an arm and a leg. While ultimately unable to stop Shigaraki from waking up, Mirko’s involvement left him unable to use his full power, potentially saving the world.

Mirko Hero Academia

Yoshinori, Kohei Horikoshi’s assistant who has a great love for Mirko, imagined some of the greatest heroes in class 1-A wearing the bunny hero costume to ring in the new year as the anime adaptation prepares for the sixth season and choose on the pieces after the psychic liberation war:

For those hoping to see Mirko return for the sixth season, she could definitely make an appearance, though she’s now missing an arm and a leg, we doubt she’ll be jumping back into the anime adaptation to fight crime again anytime soon. Thankfully, UA Academy and Hero Society’s technology has been able to replicate limbs, which comes in handy when it comes to the Rabbit Hero’s role in the Final Arc. As the manga comes to a close, it will be interesting to see if Mirko survives the fight against All For One and how her role might change.

Do you think Mirko will make it? My Hero Academia empathize? Feel free to let us know in the comments or call me directly on Twitter @EVComedy to talk about all things comics, anime and the world of UA Academy.
