Morgan Freeman joins Taylor Sheridan’s new Paramount+ series

Taylor Sheridan is one of the biggest names on television today and has made huge hits like Yellowstone and its many spin-offs, as well as the new series, Tulla king. Sheridan manages to cast some great actors in his projects, and the ones to come Lioness is no exception. Last summer, it was announced that Sheridan would officially be taking on a larger role in the upcoming Paramount+ series, which he created. It was previously announced that Zoe Saldaña and Laysla De Oliveira would star in the project, and this month it was revealed that Nicole Kidman had joined the cast. This is according to a new report from deadlinewill also star Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman on the show.

Lioness is a spy series based on a real-life CIA program produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios for Paramount+. Freeman plays Edwin Mullins, “the US Secretary of State on the show.” The show stars De Oliveira as Cruz Manuelos, “a rugged but passionate young Marine recruited to join the CIA’s Lioness Engagement Team to help take down a terrorist organization from the inside out. Saldaña plays Joe , the head of the station’s Lioness program charged with training, managing and directing its female undercover agents.”

According to an earlier press release, Kidman plays Kaitlyn Meade, “the CIA’s senior supervisor who has had a long career playing the political game. She must juggle the trappings of a woman in the high-ranking intelligence community, a wife craves the attention which she can’t even give herself, and a mentor for someone who comes suspiciously close to the same rocky road she’s been on. “Lioness will also star Jill Wagner as Bobby, a CIA Special Activities Division agent; Dave Annable as Neil, Joe’s husband and the father of their two daughters; LaMonica Garrett and James Jordan as Tucker and Two Cups respectively, both veteran CIA Special Activities Division operatives on Joe’s squad; Austin Hébert as Randy, a technical specialist in charge of surveillance; Hannah Love Lanier as Kate, Joe and Neil’s daughter; Stephanie Nur as Aaliyah, the daughter of a billionaire businessman with ties to terrorism; and Jonah Wharton as Tex, another member of Joe’s team.”
