Nintendo fans are desperate to know what’s going on Metroid Prime 4 and when the Nintendo Switch game comes out. The fourth installment in the beloved series was announced almost six years ago at E3 2017. Not only is there still no word on when it will be released, but Nintendo fans have yet to see anything of the game. In fact, Nintendo barely mentioned it, with the last mention of it coming in 2019 when Nintendo announced that development on the game had resumed at Retro Studios. Unfortunately, none of this has changed, but some Nintendo fans are wondering if the wait is almost over after a new survey from Nintendo.
The survey was recently and specifically sent out by Nintendo UK and asked Nintendo fans: Metroid Prime remasteredrelated question, and in the process, mentioned Metroid Prime 4. In particular, it notes that “it [Metroid Prime Remastered] seems like a good way to kill time to Metroid Prime 4 releases.” This isn’t all that remarkable in itself, but many Nintendo fans have pointed out that it’s not just strange to Metroid Prime 4 up, but to bring up the release if it isn’t released soon. Combine this with the out-of-nowhere stealth release of Metroid Prime remastered earlier this year, and some Nintendo fans are wondering if this year, or possibly next year, is finally here Metroid Prime 4 time.

For now, take everything here for what it is, speculation. It’s impossible to know what should and shouldn’t be made of this research, especially since it comes from Nintendo UK and not Nintendo itself. As you might expect, the speculation created by this has not been commented on by Nintendo. We don’t expect this to change for various reasons, but if it does, we’ll update the story accordingly.
