Marvel Reveals First Details About Landmark Fantastic Four #700

In the spring, Marvel celebrates 700 issues of Fantastic four with a giant number featuring their old nemesis, Doctor Doom. Marvel recently relaunched Fantastic four with the new creative team of writer Ryan North and artist Iban Coello. Each issue focuses on a member of Marvel’s First Family and a mystery that has caused a rift between the group. Answers are slowly revealed, with February’s Fantastic four #4 Spilling all those secrets and getting the Fantastic Four back together. Unfortunately, Doctor Doom will get involved too, to correct Reed Richards’ failure.

“I feel privileged to be writing the Fantastic Four at any time, honestly, but if I get a major milestone issue on my watch, it’s certainly luck — and it’s an opportunity I didn’t want to waste,” said Ryan North in a statement. “A big anniversary issue like this requires a comparably big story, something meaningful, impactful and memorable. And given that it’s a super-big release with more leeway, everything is geared to do a story with the most meaningful, impactful, memorable of the Fantastic Four. , and super-sized villain: Doctor Doom. Doom requires nothing less than the biggest release of the year to be dedicated to him, and I dare not defy Doom. It’s a big twisty story that takes the Fantastic Four to their new home and looks at what happened to both families over the past year in a new light. The Fantastic Four are down, but not out, and Doom senses an opportunity…”

Alex Ross illustrates Fantastic Four covers

Legendary artist Alex Ross provides the covers Fantastic fourwhich is ironic since he also wrote and illustrated his first graphic novel featuring the Fantastic Four, which ComicBook.com revealed exclusively in December 2021.

“When I was a kid who read comics, I especially liked Alex Ross, and my brother used to tease me about it,” North said at the time Fantastic four was announced. “At the same time, I had just got my driver’s license. To drive his car, I needed car insurance, and car insurance is expensive when you are a teenager with no income. I forget how this started, but my brother would tease me with impressions of me by writing a letter to my favorite artist Alex Ross and saying, “Dear Mr. Ross, I love your work, would you please pay my car insurance?” He would ruthlessly do this bit.”

He continued: “I recently texted my brother saying, ‘You won’t believe what Alex Ross is doing. He didn’t buy me car insurance, but he’s doing coverage for my Fantastic four funny.’ That’s a joke for two people, but this is all to say I’m super excited. He’s a gifted artist and just the idea of him drawing things that come from my writing feels like a fairytale.”
