The singer maluma left an interview after becoming angry with a reporter who questioned his decision to appear on the World Cup 2022, which will be based in Qatar. Artists love Dua Lipa and Shakira refused to perform at the opening event due to the country’s history of human rights abuses. The reggaeton star said during an interview with Israeli state television that he started performing because he loves life, music and football. However, the reporter pressed him and questioned him again about the human rights issue and, visibly shaken, wondered if he really needed to answer these kinds of questions. Afterwards, the Colombian left the interview, calling the reporter “rude”. Maluma sings along Nicky Minaj and Miriam Fares the music tuko taka, made exclusively for the Cup – the official song of the FIFA Fan Festival. On social media, the singer celebrated his participation in the event: “Colombia is going to the World Cup!!! Let’s sing the official song, tuko taka, at the fan event!! To Qatar! Long live the football party”. Commenting on the post, some followers celebrated that the artist will be present at the event, while others criticized him for ignoring the controversies surrounding Qatar.
