All Elite Wrestling has been without its best fighting machine for almost a month. After defeating Death Triangle in their best-of-seven series and winning back the AEW World Trios titles, the Young Bucks came to AEW programming without partner Kenny Omega. Omega’s absence was later said to be related to a visa issue, which was consistent with January 11 reports AEW dynamite match between The Elite and Death Triangle was almost postponed for the same reason. Omega’s visa issue prevented him from attending Jay Briscoe’s tribute game last week AEW dynamite.
Tonight’s Dynamite featured The Elite from Wright State University, taking a break from basketball to address Top Flight. They then said that Top Flight could recruit AR Fox and face them in a World Trios Championship match the following week, but they were soon interrupted by Stokely Hathaway, Ethan Page, Matt Hardy and Isiah Kassidy from The Firm. They challenged The Elite to a match at Rampage and the group accepted, so fans will see the match played next Friday.

Omega’s recent absence was just the latest obstacle the former AEW World Champion had to overcome to get back on television. After losing the top prize from AEW to Hangman Page op AEW full equipment In 2021, Omega took extended time off to heal from some nagging injuries. Due to his physical setbacks, he was out until the summer of 2022.
He would return to reunite with the Young Bucks in the AEW World Trios Championship tournament, winning a pair of six-man tag matches on AEW TV before defeating Hangman Page and the Dark Order in the tournament finals on AEW completely off 2022.
Despite coming out of that pay-per-view both victorious and healthy, Omega was once again pulled from AEW programming due to its involvement in a backstage fight with CM Punk, the Young Bucks, and Ace Steel. All parties were suspended for several months and Steel was completely let go from the company. Omega and the Bucks was set to return to AEW programming this past November AEW full equipment 2022. Punk remains out with a torn tricep, which he sustained during his AEW completely off match with Jon Moxley. His future in AEW remains unclear.
