Jane Fonda says she’s ready to die

In September of this year Jane Fonda, star of the series Grace & Frankie, gave an emotional account of his cancer diagnosis. The 84-year-old actress recently said she feels ready to die.

During an interview on the show Entertainment tonightFonda said that talking about death is still taboo, but that she feels ready to leave at any moment.

In December, the star turns 85 and in addition to being an actress, she is also a model, businesswoman and activist who defends various feminist causes, the LGBTQIAP+ community and the environment.

“For better or worse, celebrities draw attention to certain causes. I won’t be here much longer; we need to get celebrities involved in these issues,” he stated.

“When you get to my age, you better be aware of the amount of time behind you and the amount of time ahead. I mean, that’s just realistic. I’m not afraid to run away. I’m ready,” he added.

Jane Fonda was diagnosed non-Hodgkin lymphoma

The actress was diagnosed with the disease that affects the cells of the lymphatic system and spreads in an unordered way. Jane had gone through a breast cancer treatment process years ago and had even had a mastectomy.

At the time, Jane Fonda issued a lengthy statement that moved fans, remember:

“I am lucky enough to have health insurance and access to the best doctors and treatments. Almost every family in America has had cancer at some point and many don’t have access to the quality health care I get and that’s just not right.”

“So my dear friends, I have something personal I want to share. I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and started chemotherapy treatments. This is a highly treatable cancer. 80% of people survive, so I’m very lucky.”

“We also need to talk a lot more about not just cures, but causes, so we can eliminate them. For example, people need to know that fossil fuels cause cancer. The same thing happens with pesticides, many of which are based on fossil fuels, like mine,” he reflected.

In this week’s interview, the star said she’s thankful she’s lived a great life: “Not that I want to leave, but I know it will happen sooner or later,” he concluded.
