Hugh Jackman shares a Wolverine message for Thanksgiving

Hugh Jackman, not too far from returning to the role of Wolverine for the last time (again), took to social media today to share a themed Thanksgiving image. From an episode of X-Men: The Animated Series, the image shows Wolverine using his claws to slice a turkey drumstick, then grab it and take a bite. It doesn’t matter that Jackman is Australian and Thanksgiving is an American holiday; After all, Wolverine is Canadian herself, so it’s not like there isn’t a history of cross-cultural celebrations with this meme.

“I hope everyone celebrating enjoys a safe, high-calorie day with family and friends,” Jackman captioned the image. He also shared some Thanksgiving-inspired emojis.

Jackman announced his return to the role of Wolverine in September, confirming he will be joining Ryan Reynolds Deadpool3currently slated for a Spring 2024 release.

Reynolds and Jackman were previously together in X-Men origin: Wolverine but the film is largely criticized and often joked about by Reynolds, to the point that dead pool 2In the post-credits scene, Wade Wilson went back in time to prevent it from ever happening. However, the storytelling of these Marvel movies hasn’t made it easy for Jackman and Reynolds to play Wolverine and Deadpool together.

Jackman’s flight as the X-Men character seemingly came to a final end in Logan, but with movies like Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness along the way and the mythology introduced in Marvel’s Loki series, anything is possible with the multiverse and variant versions of Wolverine could be looming up there somewhere. There is also the reality that Logan took place in a time that is still the future, so the OG Logan could appear younger and significantly less dead.

Deadpool3 will be directed by Free guy and The Adam Project‘s Shawn Levy, with a script written by Bob’s burgersWendy Molyneaux and Lizzie Molyneaux-Loeglin, met Deadpool and dead pool 2 writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are also reportedly returning to contribute to the script.
