How to evolve Charcadet into Ceruledge and Armarouge

Charcadet is one of many new Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Purple, but unlike those with common evolutionary paths, it can evolve into one of two things: Ceruledge or Armarouge. Those are version-exclusive Pokemon that Ceruledge belongs to Pokemon Violet while Armarogue comes from Pokemon Scarlet, so you’ll need a little help from a friend to get them both. Getting one is tricky enough, but it’s a relatively simple process once you know the steps.

To that end, we can help you quickly evolve your Charcadet to get one of these unique evolutions as soon as possible. First of all: you need a Charcadet. To find those, just go to West Province (Area One) or South Province (Area Three) and wander around. If you want to speed up the process, eat a meal that will increase your chances of encountering a Fire Pokemon.

With a Charcadet on your team, you’ll need to talk to someone to initiate a trade. But before you worry about that, go ahead and collect the trading resources you need by following the instructions below:

How to evolve Charcadet in Armarouge

To evolve Charcadet into Armarouge, you need a special item called “Auspicious Armor”. To get that, you need 10 Bronzor Fragments.

To do that, go to the locations marked below on the map and find and fight the Bronzor. The easiest way to quickly get through this part of the process is to use the game’s Let’s Go mode to battle them out in the open. They like to hang around ruins. Once you get your hands on 10 fragments, skip the Ceruledge section below and read on.

How to Evolve Charcadet in Ceruledge

Evolving from Charcadet to Ceruledge is done through a similar process, but you need a source other than Bronzor Fragments. You will need Sinistea Chips for this task.

As with the Bronzor quest, go to the locations marked on the map below to find Sinistea. They’re quite small and not nearly as noticeable as some other Pokemon, so you might have better luck spotting them while walking rather than riding your Ride Pokemon. Battle them in Let’s Go mode to quickly craft them, secure 10 Sinistea Chips, and read on to complete the process.

How to complete Charcadet’s evolution

With your Pokemon resources in hand, head to the western Pokemon Center in Zapapico, a town in East Paldea. Follow the large building around the bend to see a fountain with a person standing in front of it. You will find a man there Scarlet and a woman in it purple.

When you are playing Scarletwill offer the person an exchange of Favorable Armor for the Bronzor Fragments while the purple NPC provides the evil armor for the Sinistea chips. Trade them what they ask for and use your item on your Charcadet (the item is in your inventory under the category marked by a Rare Candy). Your Charcadet will instantly evolve as if you used an Evolution Stone on it, and you have a powerful Armarouge or Ceruledge in your party.
