Hogwarts legacy is a very long game and it has a tons to do in it. Hogwarts legacy is a brand new RPG from developer Avalanche Studios and takes on the very ambitious idea of ​​putting you in control of your very own witch or wizard in the late 19th century, long before the Harry Potter stories. As this nameless protagonist, you will adventure in and around Hogwarts, take on all sorts of missions, build the character you want to create and walk the line between good and evil. It took years for this game to arrive and the time it took is fully visible in the game.

So much so that we haven’t personally finished the game at the time of writing. Even with over 20 hours in the game, it still feels like there’s still some way to go before we reach the end of the credits. We juggled side quests in addition to the main story though, so that’s part of the reason why we’re probably not that far into the story. We recently asked Avalanche Studios CEO Alan Tew for an estimate of how long it would take to finish the game and he commented that it recently took him over 80 hours to figure everything out 100% , and that’s with knowing everything about the game.

“We find the length varies very dramatically and very wildly depending on the player and, as you mentioned, mainlining versus doing side missions,” Tew said. “I can describe it through my own lens. I’m someone, you can imagine, who’s been through a lot of playthroughs and you understand what I might know about the game given my position. I recently did a 100% playthrough of everything, and even with all my knowledge and my information that was an 80+ hour run to go through all the content I feel there is a lot and a lot to deal with and I’m excited that people have that experience. ”

What kind of side content is in it Hogwarts legacy?

Considering it took one of the key people on the project over 80 hours to make the game 100%, you might be wondering what sorts of things there are to fill that time. In addition to a variety of collectibles, Hogwarts legacy contains a large number of side missions and school assignments to complete. In these side stories, players search for buried treasure underwater, find lost items, run errands for shopkeepers, and more. There are also additional activities such as broomstick races and mini-games to take part in, so there’s no shortage of content beyond the lengthy main story.

Hogwarts legacy will be released on February 7 for Deluxe Edition owners and February 10 for all others with an Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC copy.
