GameStop giving away two popular games for $2.50 each

GameStop is now giving away two popular games, technically priced at $2.50 each. That said, they come together in a bundle, so you’ll end up paying more than $5 in total. However, this is still an outright bargain. You can’t even get a dozen eggs for $5 right now, let alone two AAA video games, let alone two great AAA video games. We don’t know how long this deal will be available for, but it’s live as of this writing.

If you’ve never played either Bayonetta or Vanquish, you can now play both for just $5. What’s the catch? Well, it will be a second-hand one. Furthermore, the deal is only available to Xbox One users. A PS4 version, even pre-owned, costs $20. If you’re just buying brand spanking new games then this deal is a bust, but it’s worth noting that GameStop guarantees that every pre-owned game it sells will work perfectly or you money back.

As for the games themselves, Bayonetta released in 2009 through developer PlatinumGames and publisher Sega. Upon release, the game sold well and received critical reception, beginning a series of the same name that continues to this day. It is also widely regarded as one of the best games of its generation. Vanquish is not as critically acclaimed, didn’t sell as well, and didn’t spawn a series of the same name, but it sure was popular when it came out in 2010.

Bayonetta: “Bayonetta. The last survivor of an ancient clan of witches who hold the balance between light, dark and chaos. Buried to protect himself – and the world as we know it – Bayonetta is discovered and revived after 500 years, triggering a series of events with disastrous consequences. Flung straight into battle, with only one clue to her past, Bayonetta must discover the truth and fight for the future. Her daunting conquest will see her face off against countless angelic foes and gargantuan foes in a game of 100% pure action.

Vanquish: “Draw up in the Augmented Reaction Suit as government agent Sam Gideon and become the ultimate weapon. Combine unparalleled firepower with superhuman speed and agility to take down a wide variety of deadly robots.”

As noted, this is a limited-time deal, meaning that by the time you read this, the deal could be very good. That said, it’s been live for a while now and usually these GameStop deals are live long before they expire.
