Friday the 13th Jason Voorhees makes Trends on Twitter

If your entire social media feed is full of hockey masks, it’s not just you. It’s Friday the 13th, which means it’s time for Jason Voorhees to trend everywhere. The killer wearing a hockey mask has been stalking popular culture since the start of the franchise and a new prequel series is coming soon in the form of Crystal lake. Jason has appeared in a dozen movies, including one pitting him against fellow slasher icon Freddy Krueger, as well as video games, comic books, and more.

The franchise has been on hold for a few years, ever since the writer of the original film managed to reclaim the writing from series producers, and he’s the one who licensed it Crystal lakealthough elements of the franchise that came in later installments (even the hockey mask itself) won’t show up in that series.
