As WWE fans continue to guess and theorize about the potential WWE superstars joining this year’s Men’s and Women’s Royal Rumble, a former WWE Champion has revealed some bad news for fans hoping to see them return. One of the best reasons to watch one of the Royal Rumble matches is not only that we get to see who will lead the main contender to WrestleMania, but also the chance to see former superstars in action that we haven’t seen yet in a while. With the premium live event closer than ever, fans were hit with a setback.
Michelle McCool, former two-time WWE Divas Champion and former two-time WWE Women’s Champion, revealed to fans on Twitter that she will not actually be participating in the 2023 Royal Rumble. As she explained to fans hoping to see her return for the Women’s Rumble matchshe didn’t get the call and was apparently not asked to be involved in the match this time.
What to expect for the Women’s Royal Rumble Match
Michelle McCool noted in several tweets to fans that while they may have hoped it was a tease or a possible deflection to a surprise return at the Royal Rumble this weekend, she reiterated that she didn’t get a call from WWE at all. This was the case around her tweets from Jan. 16, but this apparently continued until last week, when she also noted that she “didn’t get a call either” for the special Raw is XXX event coming up tonight for Monday Night Raw’s 30th Anniversary.
The WWE Royal Rumble premium live event kicks off Saturday, January 28 at 8:00 PM EST at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Confirmed participants for the Women’s Rumble include Liv Morgan, Candice LeRae, Rhea Ripley, Raquel Rodriguez, Shayna Baszler, Zelina Vega and Emma. There are still plenty of spots left in the Women’s Rumble for all sorts of surprises, so there could still be a chance that Michelle McCool still shows up and maybe hasn’t been called yet?
