Marvel Studios prepares to kick off their fifth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is already getting some great responses and will probably go down in the books as the best in the Paul Rudd-led franchise. The film serves as an introduction to The Multiverse Saga’s main antagonist, Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors), and he will become one of the most menacing villains to grace the MCU. Kang has serious ties to another up-and-coming franchise in the MCU, as he is the great-grandson of Reed Richards / Mr. Fantastic from the Fantastic Four. There have been numerous rumors about who has been cast in the upcoming reboot, with Adam Driver, Dev Patel, Penn Badgley, and Diego Luna all reportedly starring in the film as Mr. Fantastic. There have been multiple other rumors that other actors were in talks for the roles, so when we got a chance to join the conversation Fantastic four director Matt Shakman, we asked him about it. In a new interview with ComicBook.com’s Chris Killian, Shakman discussed those rumors and whether the roles have been cast yet.
“There are a lot of them, man. They really are. It’s pretty crazy. As I also learned from WandaVision, it’s so nice to see how much involvement fans have with this material, because I’m a fan too. , and I’ve been reading Fantastic Four since I was a kid,” Shakman told us. “I love these characters. I love the opportunity we have to bring them to the MCU and I really want to do it right and I know everyone there is really excited and passionate about the same way about wanting to do it right. And so I encourage it. I love it. But yeah, I don’t have any early answers about casting for anyone today. ‘
“Yes, unfortunately I have no comments.” The Fantastic four added director when asked if the roles were already cast.
That will be the next Marvel Studios movie to come out Ant Man and the Wasp: Quatumania. Empire Magazine recently had a chat with director Peyton Reed about how the stakes have risen Quantumania. “People were like, oh, these are nice little palate cleansers after a giant Avengers movie,” Reed told the outlet. “For this third, I said, ‘I don’t want to be the palate cleanser anymore. I want to be the big one Avengers movie.'”
“I grew up as a true Marvel comic nerd, and there are a handful of adversaries in the Marvel comic universe who know everything,” Reed continued. “Loki, of course. Doctor Doom from the Fantastic Four. And Kang the Conqueror. Talking to Kevin Feige and Marvel, it was like I want to pit Ant-Man and Wasp against a really formidable villain in this movie, and so we’re doing Kang the Conqueror.”
“In the comics, Kang has lordship over time, he’s a time traveler. His situation is a little bit different in this movie, which I won’t spoil for you, but he’s someone who, [while] we live very linear lives, from childhood to death, Kang doesn’t exist that way,” the director grinned. against the mightiest force in the multiverse.”
The studio describes the film as follows: “In the film, which officially kicks off Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, superhero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant. Man and the Wasp Along with Hope’s parents Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), the family explores the Quantum Realm, encounters strange new creatures, and embarks on an adventure that will take them beyond the frontiers of what they thought possible. Jonathan Majors joins the adventure as Kang.”
