Faker is reportedly considering offers to play in LCS

The “GOAT” from League of Legends Esports’ Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok is reportedly considering deals from several other organizations in the midst of this current off-season. Since his senior debut all the way back in 2013, Faker has only played for one team in T1 (formerly SK Telecom T1). And while many fans naturally assumed Faker would play his entire career for the organization, it sounds like he could field offers from several other teams around the world.

This is according to a new report from Blix.gg, Faker listens to deals from other teams outside of those within the LCK. Specifically, this report claims that Faker is exploring offers in “different regions” ahead of the end of his contract with T1, which expires next day. LCS teams in Team Liquid and Flyquest would be two organizations that showed an interest in the all-time greats. Team Liquid in particular is said to have been talking to Faker for a while

It’s worth emphasizing that even if Faker speaks to other teams, the chances of him leaving T1 still seem pretty slim. The main reason for this belief is that Faker actually owns shares in T1, making him part owner of the company. While other teams could make similar offers to Faker, his close ties to T1 for much of the past decade make a departure feel somewhat far-fetched.

This past season, Faker returned to the finals of Worlds 2022 before losing to DRX in a 3-2 series. Despite the loss, T1 was still regarded by many as a favorite heading into 2023, assuming the core of the team stayed together. Obviously, Faker’s exit from T1 would be a monumental move that would have huge effects beyond just the LCK, but only time will tell what the superstar midlaner chooses to do.

Do you think there is any chance Faker could play for another team in 2023? Or is he just taking advantage of these deals from different organizations to get a better deal to return to T1? Let me know your own thoughts in the comments or message me on Twitter at @MooreMan12.
